Lloyd Jones has acquired the 113-unit Hamilton Heights, a historic senior housing community in West Hartford, Conn. The new owner is slated to renovate and rebrand the property as AVIVA West Hartford. The seller was Peregrine Senior Living.
The four and five-story property stretches over 10 acres. The new owner’s rejuvenation plans include refreshing the landscape and upgrading the furnishing in the common areas, as well as implementing a new technology package. Current community amenities include a library, patio, pub, movie theater, chapel and salon and spa. Walking trails are also available.
Originally built in 1905 by John J. Dwyer, the property used to house Mount St. Joseph Academy, a boarding school for girls, and was turned into an independent living, assisted living and memory care facility in 1997. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Located at 1 Hamilton Heights Drive, the community is less than half a mile south of Elizabeth Park Rose Garden. Several dining, retail and entertainment options are available within a 2-mile radius.
Also active in other senior housing markets, Lloyd Jones acquired three other senior housing communities this year: AVIVA Woodlands in Lincoln, Neb., AVIVA River Bend in Rochester, Minn., and AVIVA Maybelle Carter in Nashville, Tenn.
