Landmark Properties has broken ground on The Standard at Eugene, a 703-bed student housing community in Eugene, Ore., serving the students at the University of Oregon.
Pre-leasing is expected to begin in September next year, with completion slated for September 2024. Ankrom Moisan Architects serves as the designer for the project, according to public documents from Eugene city’s Planning and Development Department.
The project will encompass 265,000 square feet of residential space across 247 units, offering a mix of studio to five-bedroom apartments, with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, in-unit washers and dryers, large closets, high-speed internet and cable. Community amenities will include a pool, fitness center, sauna, student lounge, outdoor grilling area, computer lab and gaming area, as well as 300 parking spaces.
Located at 435 E. Broadway, the community will be less than a mile from the University of Oregon and within 1.5 miles of Matthew Knight Arena, Autzen Stadium and Hayward Field. Downtown Eugene, offering a variety of dining and retail options, is less than half a mile from the site. Alton Baker Park and the Eugene Science Center are 1 mile away.
The project represents Landmark’s second student housing development in Oregon. Currently, there are two properties under construction that will serve the students at the University of Oregon, adding 1,252 rooms to the existing inventory, Yardi Matrix data shows.
Recently, the company has started work on another student project, The Metropolitan at Tampa, a 760-bed community in Tampa, Fla., set for delivery in August 2024.
